Step 3: Rely on demos- The websites of these organisations and agencies will have demonstration clips of their artists and you can listen to them and review them. They are like a portfolio and can be relied upon. If these are not available on the website, the agencies will surely provide you with it before asking you to make a choice. It is a pretty fair reflection of their talent and calibre.
Step 4: Custom auditions- If you want to get a better idea of what the artists can do with your video, it is essential that you ask for a custom audition. Many artists prefer this method of scrutiny better. You can send in your script and ask the artists to send a small auditions clip. This will give you a better sense of who works for you the best and nail your selection. The review of a demo is generally a preliminary to these auditions.

Step 5: Get on the same page- After the selection of the artists is complete, there are many other details that need to be finalised. This includes the price (if it has not been discussed before), the date of recording, the format of recording or any other specification that you might have in mind. If you have envisioned the recording in some way and have to contribute creatively to the process, get it touch with the artist and explain what you are looking for. Such discussions will make your project more suitable to your liking and will also make it easier for the artist.
